Are there any known problems with morphing objects under 3.5? I've had a
couple of problems doing 2-d morphs, in which the image maps do not seem to
follow the polygon properly. The first instance involved morphing a polygon
in the shape of California into a polyon of a marajuana leaf. This was a
fairly detailed object with alot of points. Both the state and the leaf were
image mapped, and surface morphing was turned on. Two morphs were set up:
The California object morphed to the leaf, from 0% to 100% in 200 frames. At
the same time, the Leaf object morphed to the California object, from 100% to
0%. I dissolved between them as they morphed. The expected result -shape and
surfaces doing a smooth transition- did not occur. The image maps on the leaf
did not follow smoothly. (All objects had unique names and surfaces.)
Today, I attempted a much simpler morph: A rectangular polygon with many
points along one edge. The polygon has both a surface map and a transparency
map. In modeler, I used the magnet to push and pull on the edge with many
points, so that it's surface was wavey. The goal was to morph to the wavey
object so that surface and transparent edge of the polygon will conform to the
new shape. The map doesn't seem to follow properly... Am I overlooking
something here?
